The Rohs Testing Machine is the testing instrument for the EU RoHS testing standard. Simply put, it is an instrument for testing six harmful substances including lead Pb, cadmium Cd, mercury Hg, hexavalent chromium Cr6+, polybrominated diphenyl ethers PBDE, and polybrominated biphenyls PBB.
The principle of RoHS testing machine:
The ROHS detector is an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, and its analysis principle is also the analysis principle of an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. X-ray fluorescence spectrometers can generally be divided into two categories, wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (WDXRF) and energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (EDXRF);
The main components of wavelength dispersive spectrometer include excitation source, spectroscopic crystal, goniometer, detector, etc., while energy dispersive spectrometer only needs excitation source, detector and related electronic and control components, which is relatively simple.
The wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer uses the analytical crystal to distinguish the analytical line of the element to be measured. According to Bragg’s law, the spectral line wavelength of the element to be measured can be obtained by measuring the angle:
nλ=2dsinaθ (n=1,2,3…)
In the formula, λ is the wavelength of the analytical line; d is the lattice spacing of the crystal; θ is the diffraction angle; n is the diffraction order. The diffraction angle of the analytical spectral line can be measured by the goniometer, and the wavelength of the corresponding analyzed element can be calculated by using the above formula, so as to obtain the characteristic information of the analyzed element.
The energy chromatic scattering ray fluorescence spectrometer uses an energy detector to directly obtain the characteristic ray energy emitted by the measured element by measuring the amount of charge collected by the detector:
Q=kE
In the formula, K is the photon energy of the incident ray; Q is the corresponding charge generated by the detector; k is the response parameter of different types of energy detectors. The amount of charge is proportional to the energy of the incident ray, so the characteristic information of the element to be measured can be obtained by measuring the amount of charge.
The characteristic spectral lines of the elements to be measured need to use a certain excitation source to obtain. At present, the conventionally used excitation sources mainly include ray light tubes and isotope excitation sources.
In order to obtain the qualitative and quantitative information of the sample, in addition to the spectrometer, certain sample preparation techniques must be used, and relevant spectral analysis and data processing must be performed on the obtained intensities.
Guidelines on how to use a RoHS testing machine to ensure compliance with RoHS testing:
1. Understand the relevant directives and regulations To ensure compliance with the guidelines for RoHS testing, you first need to clarify and understand the relevant regulations. Understand the RoHS 2.0 Directive and its amendments and other regulations, including the list of restricted substances, allowed limits, etc.
2. Purchase Rohs Testing Machine with certificates Before using Rohs Testing Machine, you must first purchase Rohs Testing Machine with certificates to ensure that they can accurately test the content of restricted substances, and can accurately measure restricted substances and their content.
3. Use appropriate standard samples for calibration Before using Rohs Testing Machine, use appropriate standard samples for calibration to ensure the accuracy and stability of the testing instruments.
4. Use standard samples of restricted substances for testing When using Rohs Testing Machine, standard samples containing restricted substances should be used for testing to ensure that the testing instruments can accurately measure the content of restricted substances.
5. Establish a recording system When using Rohs Testing Machine, a recording system should be established to record the test results, sample description, test time and other information for comparison to ensure the accuracy of the test results.
