Sand and dust test chamber : IP Dustproof Level Standard and dust chamber test Method

The scientific name of dustproof test chamber is sand and dust test chamber, dustproof test machine, and other various names, which is used for the product to carry out the IP dustproof test instrument. Its scope of use includes but is not limited to electrical appliances, lighting fixtures, instruments and meters, intelligent robots, video equipment, vacuum cleaners, sweepers and other products.

Working principle:
The sand and dust test chamber is a powder circulating pump used in the sealed test chamber to replace other ways in which talcum powder can be suspended. Talcum powder is filtered through a metal sieve. The wire diameter of metal wire is 50 μm, and the screen size is 75 μm. The talcum powder dosage is 2kg per cubic meter test box, and the use times shall not exceed 20 times.

The sand and dust test chamber is relatively strict for the medium used. Firstly, the dust is dry talcum powder, and the talcum powder shall be filtered through a metal sieve. The diameter of metal wire is 50um, and the screen size is 75um. The talcum powder dosage is 2kg/m3. The criterion is that it cannot completely prevent the dust from entering, but the amount of dust entering shall not affect the normal operation of the equipment.

The sand and dust test chamber is used to test 1-6 different dustproof levels of the product, which has 6 different categories, namely IP1X dustproof test ball, IP2X dustproof test finger, IP3X dustproof test probe, IP4X dustproof test line and IP56x dustproof test chamber. The dustproof test equipment should meet the technical parameters requirements of IEC60529:1989 +A1:1999 +A2:2013 “Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures(IP Code)” and GB4208-2017 “Protective Level of Enclosures (IP Code)”.

Structural features:
The shell of the facility is made from cold-rolled steel plate electrostatic spraying, and the inner lining is made of stainless steel plate of superior quality, with a beautiful overall shape. There is a large area of observation window with manual wiper in the middle of the chamber door, which can clearly see the test condition of the sample during the test.

The main operation instrument of the facility is an intelligent digital display operation instrument. The main operation instrument of the facility uses an intelligent digital display temperature control instrument, with a humanized operation method, easy to learn and use, and different functional levels of instrument operation are mutually compatible.

Input with digital calibration system, built-in commonly used thermocouples and thermistors nonlinear calibration table, measurement stability. There are position adjustment and AI artificial intelligence adjustment functions, and various alarm modes. The facility has a timing function. The heating of the facility is stainless steel finned tube heating. The whole dust blowing cycle and vibration cycle of the facility can be adjusted, and a total timer of the test is provided.

Dust chamber test method:
1. Clean the shell of the sample and try to avoid the dust entering the test chamber.
2. Place the sample in the middle position inside, and connect the sample power supply if necessary.
3. After the sieved talcum powder is poured into the chamber, the amount of dust is generally 2 kg/cubic meter, and the door is closed.
4. Start the equipment, set the test parameters, such as power-on time, vibration time, dust blowing time, etc.
5. After the experiment is finished, wait for the dust to settle for 30min and then open the chamber door to take out the sample for inspection. Note not to open the door immediately to avoid the dust directly flowing out from the chamber, which may cause pollution of the laboratory environment.

Product test standards of dustproof test chamber:
1. The dust mainly is dry talcum powder media;
2. The diameter of metal wire is 50um, and the screen size is 75um.
3. Talcum powder dosage is 2 kg/m3;
4. Temperature range: RT + 10~40℃ (specify when ordering);
5. Vacuum gauge range: 0 – 10Kpa (adjustable);
6. Pumping speed: 0 – 2400L/H (adjustable);
7. Dust emissions from dustproof test box: free dust emissions;
8. Total test time: 0 – 999H (adjustable);
9. Vibration time: 0 – 999H (adjustable).

The installation requirements for dustproof test chamber:
1. The site must have enough space to accommodate the test equipment and leave enough maintenance space;
2. The power supply of the device should have well grounded facilities;
3. The height of the space should be sufficient to enable the installation to run normally after it is installed, as well as maintenance and repair in the future;
4. The annual temperature of the device should be kept in the range of 2-35℃, with a relative humidity not exceeding 85%, and a good ventilation facility;
5. It should be installed in a place with less dust;
6. The ambient temperature of the installation site should not change sharply; 7. It should be installed on a horizontal ground (a level gauge should be used to determine the level on the ground when installing);
8. It should be installed in a place without direct sunshine;
9. It should be installed away from combustible, explosive and high temperature heat sources.

Precautions for dust testing instruments:
1. When there is a fault inside the dustproof test chamber, stop heating immediately and give a fault prompt to indicate that there is a fault inside;
2. After the test is completed, turn off the operation switch first and then the main switch. Pay attention to the dust out when opening the door for sampling;
3. The air temperature inside the dustproof test chamber should be high enough to ensure that the relative humidity in the chamber is 25% or lower. Put the sample at room temperature without packaging, without power, in the normal use position or in accordance with the relevant regulations into the test chamber. If there are multiple samples, pay attention to ensure that the samples do not contact each other and do not block dust from each other;
4. Dust should be introduced into the test chamber to maintain the specified dust concentration during the specified injection time or during the whole test;
5. After the condition test is finished, the sample should still remain in the test chamber until all the dust is settled;
6. The sample volume should not exceed 25% of the volume of the test chamber, and the base of the sample should not exceed 50% of the horizontal working space of the test chamber.
