  • Description
  • The LS-B28 handle strength test device fully complies with the requirements of Clause 21 of IEC 60601-1:2020. Carrying handles or handles on portable medical equipment and their fixing parts should withstand a force equal to 3 or 4 times the weight of the equipment to ensure that the equipment has sufficient mechanical strength.

The LS-B28 handle strength testing device complies with the requirements of Clause 8.8 of IEC 62368-1:2022, using a non-clamping method to evenly add weight to a 75mm wide range in the middle of the handle. The weight shall be equal to the weight of the equipment plus the additional weight specified below: – For MS1 equipment with two or more carrying handles, apply a weight equal to 3 times the weight of the equipment.

Note: MSI equipment with only one carrying handle does not need to be tested.

For MS2 equipment, apply a weight equal to 3 times the weight of the equipment; – for MS3 equipment with a mass not greater than 50 kg, apply a weight equal to 2 times the weight of the equipment, or 75 kg, whichever is greater, and for MS3 equipment with a mass greater than 50 kq, a weight exerting a force equal to the weight of the equipment, or 100 kq, whichever is greater.

The additional weight should be gradually increased from zero, taking 5s to 10s to reach the test value and maintain it for 60s. When there is more than one handle, the force should be distributed to each handle. Force distribution should be determined by measuring the proportion of the weight of the equipment supported by each handle in the intended handling condition. If the MS2 equipment has more than one handle, and it is considered that the equipment can be carried with only one handle, then each handle should be able to withstand the total force. This equipment uses a motor to drive the T-shaped screw to lift and apply tension. The tension sensor reads the real-time tension, applies force at a constant speed and then maintains it.
