How to do ESD test

How to do ESD test? Here are a few simple steps:
1. Air discharge/contact discharge
a) First turn on the switch power
b) Then enter the selector switch, select air discharge or contact discharge
c) When air discharge is selected, press the HV ON switch button (before pressing the switch, make sure that the OUTPUT ESD discharge gun is inserted into the socket, and the VOLTS ADJUST knob is turned fully counterclockwise).
d) Then turn the VOLTS ADJUST knob clockwise to adjust the output voltage to 8KV (select the SINGLE button for single pulse discharge and press the ESD discharge gun to discharge, the REPEAT button is to press the ESD discharge gun for continuous discharge. And COUNT is the set number of times Discharge, the 20PPS button is to press the ESD discharge gun to discharge 20 times within one second), generally select the SINGLE button.
e) Press the READY button to enter the ready-to-discharge state, and now you can use the electrostatic gun to discharge the parts that need to be tested on the periphery of the phone, and press the button on the electrostatic gun to discharge once. After testing the +8KV test, then press the STOP button to stop the -8V test.
f) Switch to -8KV test. At this time, pay attention to the operation. First turn the VOLTS ADJUST knob to 0KV, then press the HV OFF button, then press the P- button to adjust to negative polarity, press the HV ON button, and then adjust the VOLTS ADJUST button When it reaches -8KV, use an electrostatic gun to put negative polarity -8KV at the outer test part of the mobile phone.
g) After testing the air discharge, press the STOP button, then turn the VOLTS ADJUST knob counterclockwise to the lowest point, press the HV OFF button, then press the P+ button, and then turn off the power of the electrostatic tester.
h) To test the contact discharge, replace the tip of the ESD discharge gun with a sharp tip, then turn on the power, then turn the switch to the CONTACT position, and then adjust the voltage +4V and -4V according to the air operation steps, and use the ESD discharge gun to face the periphery of the phone Perform contact discharge on the part to be tested.

Remarks: Air discharge is mainly for the discharge of the surrounding gaps of the prototype (such as around the case, USB interface, MIC, REC, SPEAKE, LCD periphery, buttons), and the round tip is used for air discharge; contact discharge is mainly for the exposed metal around the prototype Discharge parts (such as electroplating buttons, metal decorative parts), contact discharge with a sharp gun head.

2. Vertical coupling discharge (air)
During vertical isolation discharge, put the mobile phone close to the grounded vertical board, and then the gun head of the ESD discharge gun discharges to the vertical coupling board, and the voltage adjustment is the same as the operation described above.

3. Horizontal coupling discharge (air)
Horizontal Coupling Discharge put the prototype in parallel with the horizontal coupling plate, and use the tip of the electrostatic gun to discharge the horizontal coupling. The voltage adjustment is the same as that described above, and the operation is the same.

Notes:
After each ESD test, use a ground wire to discharge the discharge part of the gun tip. Then check whether the function of the discharge site is normal. Continue to discharge. During the discharging process, if the prototype crashes, the charger cannot be identified, the call drops, etc. After the prototype is restarted, it can return to normal.
