The ANSI/ASABE S640 standard entitled “Plants (photosynthetic organic) electromagnetic radiation volume and unit” has been released.
This work is the first research results released by AsaBe’s dedication to the development of gardening LED lighting standards, which can promote the development of LED -based garden lighting. Solid Lighting (SSL) is becoming more and more important for gardening in vertical farms, and it is also used as a supplementary application of greenhouses.
So far, it has been carried out for the LED lighting standard for more than ten years. However, some basic indicators, such as the effectiveness of human beings (LM/W), are based on human visual sensitivity and have little applicability to the effectiveness of plant growth.
The garden industry has been using existing measures for a while, such as using the photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) and photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) based on 400-700 nanometer-based photosynthetic radiation (PAR) belt. These measurements are still useful. However, ultraviolet light affects plant forms, and far red areas can affect seed germination, flowering and plant growth. New standards will increase new measures in these places.
The American Society of Agriculture and Biological Engineers (Asabe) has been actively developing standards since 2015. At present, the first priority is the definition of measurement and a new plant biological active radiation zone spanning 280-800nm. The radiation zone covers ultraviolet areas and far -infrared areas lower than human visual sensitivity.
The standard is to provide a general language for the LED system representation of the plants. ASABE’s subsequent standards will focus on the measurement and testing of LED products for plant growth, as well as performance standards for LED systems for gardening, which will form a series with the above standards.
According to reports, recently, the American Society of Agriculture and Biological Engineers (ASABE) released the second standard in the standard series consisting of three parts, LED light radiation measurement related to plant growth and development.
ANSI/ASABE S642, the measurement and test recommendation method for LED products for plant growth and development. Specifically describes how to measure and test LED packaging, array, module, LED lights, and other LED light radiation elements.
Prior to this, ASABE published the first standard ANSI/ASABE S640 of the series, mainly about the number and unit of electromagnetic radiation of plants (photosynthesis), defining and describing measurement standards for plant growth and development. Because plants are very different from humans, they need to obtain different units from familiar flow and candlelight rice. In addition, the third standard will focus on the performance standards of gardening lighting LED systems.
It is understood that ASABE was founded in 1907 to support engineers to promote the development of agriculture, biological and food systems. The ASABE Agricultural Lighting Commission began to formulate standardized measurement standards for garden lighting in 2015.
Recently, DLC is promoting garden lighting manufacturers to increase the first version of gardening management specifications by 10.5%. It is reported that the first version of the specification was released in early 2019, and the first batch of products to meet performance requirements were announced.
The technical requirements of LED -based horticultural lighting 2.0 are mainly shifted to the use of gardening -centered indicators, and no longer uses human -centered indicators as a way to enhance product efficacy. The organization stated that V2.0 is more in line with the definition of ANSI / ASABE S640 standards of American agricultural and biological engineers.
In addition, products that meet the standards must be certified by ANSI / UL 8800 security standards. DLC will be held to explain these changes at 1 pm Eastern time on 13th May, 2020 to explain these changes.
The ANSI/Asabe S640 standard entitled “Plants (photosynthetic organic) electromagnetic radiation volume and unit” has been released. LISUN LPCE-2 Integrating Sphere Spectroradiometer LED Testing System is for single LEDs and LED lighting products light measurement. LED’s quality should be tested by checking its photometric, colorimetric and electrical parameters. According to CIE 177, CIE84, CIE-13.3, IES LM-79-19, Optical-Engineering-49-3-033602, COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2019/2015, IESNA LM-63-2 and ANSI-C78.377, it recommends to using an array spectroradiometer with an integrating sphere to test SSL products. The LPCE-2 system is applied with LMS-9000C High Precision CCD Spectroradiometer or LMS-9500C Scientific Grade CCD Spectroradiometer, and A molding integrating sphere with holder base. This sphere is more round and the test result is more accruacy than the traditional integrating sphere.
In addition, tests that need to move to gardening for testing of plant lighting growth. LISUN have one LMS-6000P Portable spectroradiometer that can test illuminance (lux), E(Fc), Ee(W/m2), Tc (K), Duv Correlated Color Temperature (CCT), Chromaticity Coordinates, CRI, Purity, Peak Wavelength, Dominant Wavelength, Half Bandwidth, Center Wavelength, Centroid Wavelength, Total Color Difference, Brightness Difference, Red-Green Degree, Yellow-Blue Degree, CCT Difference, SDCM Diagram, Spectrum Diagram, PAR, PPFD, YPFD, Blue-purple irradiance Eb, Yellow-green irradiance Ey, Red-orange irradiance Er, Ratio of red and blue radiation Erb_Ratio. You can check the below vedio to know how to operate it.
