ESD table required to work with electrostatic discharge simulator together

ESD is a science formed since the mid-20th century to study the generation and attenuation of static electricity, electrostatic discharge model, electrostatic discharge effect and electromagnetic effect (such as electromagnetic interference). In recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, the wide application of microelectronic technology and the increasingly complex electromagnetic environment, more and more attention is paid to the electromagnetic field effects of electrostatic discharge, such as EMI and EMC.

What is static electricity?
Static electricity is static charge. The generation of static electricity is a polarization phenomenon caused by the transfer of electrons from one object to another under the action of external forces or by the influence of external magnetic fields. It is the result of the imbalance between positive and negative charges in a local range.
Electrostatic discharge: charge transfer caused by objects with different electrostatic potentials approaching or directly contacting each other.

Characteristics of static electricity:
1. High potential: up to tens of thousands of volts to hundreds of thousands of volts
2. Low power: nano Coulomb (NC, 10-9c) level
3. Short action time: mostly in the microsecond (US, 10-6s) level
Static electricity is a common phenomenon in people’s daily life. Many functions of static electricity have been applied to military or civil products, such as electrostatic dust removal, electrostatic spraying, electrostatic separation, electrostatic copying, etc
However, ESD has become a kind of harm to electronic products and equipment, resulting in functional disorder and even component damage of electronic products and equipment.

Hazards of static electricity:
1. Explosion and fire in dangerous places, etc
2. Working requirements for precision equipment
3. Anti interference ability, affecting product sales
4. Potential damage of products
5. With the development of high technology, the consequences caused by static electricity have broken through the boundaries of safety problems.
The harm caused by electrostatic discharge is one of the direct causes of equipment operation failure, signal loss and bit error in electronics, communications, aviation and all applications of modern electronic equipment and instruments.
Electrostatic discharge current may be directly coupled to the bus of data line, signal line, control line, etc. of electronic equipment In this case, integrated circuits and special-purpose integrated circuits are affected by electrostatic discharge.

ESD hazards to products:
1. The basic physical characteristics of static electricity are attraction or repulsion. There is a potential difference with the earth, which will produce discharge current Static electricity absorbs dust, reducing the insulation resistance of components (shortening service life).
2. The electrostatic discharge is damaged, making the components damaged and unable to work (completely damaged).
3. The electrostatic discharge electric field or current generates heat, causing component injury (potential damage).
4. The electromagnetic field generated by electrostatic discharge has a large amplitude (up to hundreds of volts / meter) and a very wide spectrum (from tens of megabytes to thousands of megabytes), causing interference or even damage to electronic products (electromagnetic interference).
5. Device breakdown caused by electrostatic discharge is the most common and serious electrostatic hazard in the electronic industry.

ESD simulator guns (Electrostatic Discharge Generator/Electrostatic Gun/ESD Guns) is in full compliance with IEC 61000-4-2EN61000-4-2ISO10605, GB/T17626.2, GB/T17215.301 and GB/T17215.322.

What is a ESD test?
The static electricity generated by the human body to the object or between two objects may cause the electrical and electronic equipment circuits to malfunction or even be damaged. The ESD generator is designed for the withstanding ESD performance measurement for the assessment of electrical and electronic equipment. ESD61000-2/ESD61000-2A has a LCD touch screen in both English and Chinese.
