This document describes methods of measurements for alternating-current-driven light emitting diodes (AC-LEDs), including AC-LED packages and AC-LED arrays or modules (see Section 3 for definitions) that are designed to operate on an AC source such as a 120-V, 60-Hz main without the need of a driver. This document provides uniform methods for operation and measurement of AC-LEDs. It is important to note that the methods and instruments for optical measurements are not described in this document; for such information, the reader is referred to IES LM-85-14 (see Section 2.1).
