What are the requirements for test conditions of sand dust test chamber

The scientific name of the sand dust test chamber is known as sand dust tester, dustproof testing machine, dustproof test chamber and other different names. It is an instrument used for IP dust prevention test of products. Its application scope includes but is not limited to electrical appliances, lighting fixtures, instruments and meters, intelligent robots, camera equipment, vacuum cleaners, sweepers and other products.

working principle:
The sand dust test chamber is a powder circulating pump in a closed test chamber, which can be replaced by other methods that can suspend talc powder. Talc powder shall be filtered through metal square mesh sieve. Wire linear diameter 50 μ m. The mesh size is 75 μ m。 The amount of talcum powder shall be 2kg per cubic meter of the test chamber, and the number of uses shall not exceed 20.
The sand dust test chamber is strict with the medium used, the dust is dry talcum powder, and the talcum powder shall be filtered through a metal square hole sieve. The wire diameter is 50um, and the mesh size is 75um. The amount of talcum powder is 2kg/m3. The criterion is that the dust cannot be completely prevented from entering, but the amount of dust entering shall not affect the normal operation of the equipment.
The sand dust test chamber has two test methods. The first one is that when the air pressure in the chamber is lower than the ambient atmospheric pressure, the vacuum pump is used to keep it lower than the atmospheric pressure due to the thermal circulation effect, and the air extraction air should be connected to the hole specially set for the test.
The second type: when the air pressure in the enclosure is the same as the ambient air pressure, the tested enclosure shall be put into the test chamber according to the normal working position, but not connected with the vacuum pump. The drain hole opened under normal conditions shall be kept open during the test, and the test duration shall be 8h.

Test standard for sand dust test chamber:
1. The dust is mainly dry talcum powder medium;

4. Temperature range: RT+10~40 ℃ (specify when ordering);

Can the sand dust test chamber be tested with sand particles?
In fact, for the sand dust test box, if sand particles are used for testing, it is an irregular thing with different shapes and sizes. Therefore, it is also possible to fail to meet the requirements of the test standards, some particles are too large and will block the screen, and in serious cases, it may cause damage to the screen and the operation of the sand dust test equipment.

1. Crystalline minerals, olivine or feldspar;
2. Talc;
3. FE powder.

Comply with IEC60529:1989+A1:1999+A2:2013 Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code), GB4208-2017 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures (IP Code) 13.4, 13.5 and Figure 3, and GB7000.1 Lamps Part I: General Requirements and Tests 9.2.1, 9.2.2 and Figure 6.

Installation requirements of sand dust test chamber:
1. The site must have enough space to accommodate the test equipment and appropriate maintenance space;
2. The power supply of the device shall have good grounding facilities;
3. The space height of the site shall enable the device to operate normally, maintain and repair in the future after the placement;
4. The perennial temperature of the device shall be kept at 2-35 ℃, and the relative humidity shall not be greater than 85%, and there shall be good ventilation facilities;
5. It shall be installed in a place with little dust;
6. The ambient temperature of the installation site must not change rapidly;
7. It shall be installed on the horizontal ground (the level shall be determined on the ground with a spirit level during installation);
8. It shall be installed in a place without direct sunlight;
9. It shall be installed far away from combustibles, explosives and high temperature heat sources.

Precautions for sand dust test chamber：
1. When the internal dust-proof test box fails, stop heating immediately and give a fault prompt to indicate the internal failure;
2. After the test, first turn off the operation switch, then turn off the main switch. When opening the door for sampling, pay attention to the sand dust flushing out;
3. The air temperature in the dustproof test chamber shall be high enough to ensure that the relative humidity in the chamber reaches 25% or less. Put the samples at room temperature into the test box according to the normal use position or relevant regulations when they are unpacked, not energized and ready for use. If multiple samples are included, it should be noted that the samples should not contact each other and do not shield each other from dust;
4. Inject sand dust into the test chamber to ensure that the specified dust concentration is maintained within the specified injection time or throughout the test;
5. After the condition test, the sample remains in the test chamber until all sand and dust settle;
6. The sample volume shall not exceed 25% of the volume of the test chamber, and the sample base shall not exceed 50% of the horizontal area of the working space of the test chamber.
