Glow Wire Test introduction:
The glow wire testing uses simulation technology to assess the fire hazard of thermal stress caused by heat sources such as hot components or overload resistors in the use environment in a short time. Application:
The Glow wire tester ZRS-3H/ZRS-3HS is suitable for resistance to abnormal heat and fire test on lighting lamps, electronic products and household appliances. It uses high-temperature coating spraying on steel structure and imported instrument display, with easy operation and stable performance. The equipment is applicable to flame resistance test of all levels of QC departments and corresponding enterprises.

Glow wire test:
The glow wire is a ring made of nickel/chromium wire with a diameter of 4mm. During the test, clamp the sample with a clamp, which can move on the track. The glow wire is energized and heated to reach the temperature specified by the standard. For example, GB2099.1-1996 stipulates: “For insulating material parts that are in contact with current-carrying parts and grounding circuits, but are not necessary to keep them in their normal positions, the test should be performed at a temperature of 650°C”. Move the fixture to apply the glow wire on the sample with a force of 0.8N~1.2N, and the application time is 30 seconds. Tightly wrap a layer of silk paper as a base layer on a smooth white pine board with a thickness of about 10mm, and place it at (200±5)mm below the glow wire application point. If the sample does not ignite, or although it ignites, but automatically extinguishes within 30 seconds after the glow wire is removed, and the substrate does not ignite, the glow wire test is judged to pass.

In addition, the flame resistance of the material is inseparable from the addition of flame retardants. A suitable flame retardant can make the tested material always fail to reach the ignition point in the test, or reach the ignition point and then automatically extinguish after ignition. In the glow wire test and the needle flame test, it can be seen that some plastic materials without flame retardants may ignite at a certain temperature or time severity level and the after burning time is greater than 30 seconds, but a suitable flame retardant is added Later, it may become non-flammable under the severe temperature or time level, or although it ignites, it will automatically extinguish within 30 seconds after the glow wire or needle flame is removed, thus meeting the requirements of the standard.
