IEC standards for Electronic Products

As more and more household appliances enter our daily life, and people use these electrical products more frequently, this requires that in addition to the design of household appliances to meet the requirements of people’s use, the safety design of the electrical appliances and the use environment must be more in line with people’s needs.

1. Reference Standards
GB 16915.1 “Switches for Fixed Electrical Installations for Household and Similar Purposes”, the English standard is IEC60669-1. The standard requires that the test items mainly refer to the following standards:
• Refer to GB 4208-2008 Enclosure Protection Level (IP Code) (IEC 60529:2001);
• Refer to GB/T 5169.11—2006 Electrical and Electronic Products Fire Hazard Test-Part 11: Glow Wire/Basic Test Methods for Glow Wire Flammability of Finished Products (IEC 60695-2-11: 2000);

1.1 Dust class: No. Degree of protection Definition
GB 4208-2008 Enclosure Protection Level (IP Code) (IEC 60529: 2001), IP is the abbreviation of Ingress Protection, IP level is the protection level for electrical equipment enclosures against foreign body intrusion, the source is the International Electrotechnical Commission standard IEC60529, the standard was also adopted as an American National Standard in 2004. In this standard, for the protection of electrical equipment enclosures against foreign objects, the format of the IP rating is IPXX, where XX is two Arabic numerals, the first marked number indicates the level of contact protection and foreign object protection, and the second marked number indicates the waterproof protection level , the specific protection level can refer to the following table. The protection level is usually expressed by two numbers followed by IP, and the numbers are used to clarify the level of protection. The first number indicates how well a device is resistant to fine dust, or how well people are protected from hazards in a sealed environment. I stands for the level of protection against ingress of solid foreign objects, with the highest level being 6; the second number indicates how waterproof the device is. P represents the level of water protection, the highest level is 8. For example, the protection level of the motor is IP65, and the protection level is IP55.

• 0 No protection No special protection
• 1 Prevent the intrusion of objects larger than 50mm Prevent the human body from accidentally touching the internal parts of the lamp Prevent the intrusion of objects larger than 50mm in diameter.
• 2 Prevent the intrusion of objects larger than 12mm and prevent fingers from touching the internal parts of the lamp.
• 3 Prevent the intrusion of objects larger than 2.5mm Prevent the intrusion of tools, wires or objects with a diameter larger than 2.5mm.
• 4 Prevent the intrusion of objects larger than 1.0mm Prevent the intrusion of mosquitoes, insects or objects with a diameter larger than 1.0.
• 5 Dustproof It is impossible to completely prevent the intrusion of dust, but the amount of dust intrusion will not affect the normal operation of the electrical.
• 6 Dustproof completely prevent dust intrusion.

1.2 Waterproof grade: No. Degree of protection Definition
• 0 No protection No special protection
• 1 Prevent dripping water from invading, prevent vertically dripping water droplets.
• 2 Water dripping is still prevented when the lamp is tilted 15 degrees Water dripping is still prevented when the lamp is tilted 15 degrees
• 3 Prevent the intrusion of water jets Prevent rainwater, or water jetted from the vertical angle of less than 50 degrees
• 4 Prevent the intrusion of splashing water Prevent the intrusion of splashing water from all directions
• 5 Prevent the intrusion of water from large waves
• 6 Prevent the water intrusion of large waves The lamps can still ensure the normal operation of the lamps under certain conditions of time or water pressure.
• 7 to prevent the intrusion of water intrusion The lamps are submerged in water indefinitely under certain water pressure conditions, and can ensure the normal operation of the lamps
• 8 Prevent the effects of sinking

1.3 LISUN Solution

2. The standards met by the safety regulations
GB/T 5169.11—2006 Fire Hazard Test for Electrical and Electronic Products Part 11: Glow Wire/Basic Test Method for Glow Wire Flammability Test Method for Finished Products (IEC 60695-2-11:2000), suitable for electrical and electronic products, household Fire hazard tests for electrical appliances and their materials simulate the thermal stress caused by heat sources such as hot components or overload resistors or ignition sources for a short period of time.

2.1 The working principle of the glow wire tester
Glow wire tester simulate parts of insulating materials or other solid combustible materials that tend to spread flames inside equipment that may ignite due to glow wire or glowing components. Under certain conditions, such as fault current flowing through the wire, component overloading, and poor contact, some components will reach a certain temperature and cause the nearby parts to ignite the test. The working principle of the glow-wire tester: After heating the nickel-chromium wire (U-shaped glow-wire head) with a specified material of Φ4 mm to the specified temperature (300 ℃ ~ 1000 ℃) with a large current, it is heated at the specified pressure (1.0N) level. The ignition hazard of the finished electrical and electronic equipment is determined by scalding the test product for 30s, and whether the test product and bedding have ignited or sustained burning time, Sexuality Index (GWFI).

2.2 LISUN Solution
LISUN designed and manufactured ZRS-3H (standard glow wire tester) and ZRS-3HS (compact glow wire tester). Fully meet the requirements of standards IEC60695-2-1, IEC60695-2-10~IEC60695-2-13 and GB/T5169.10-2006~GB/T5169.13-2006.
