LPCE-2 (LMS-9000B/A) Integrating Sphere Spectroradiometer LED Testing System is for single LEDs and LED lighting products light measurement. LED’s quality should be tested by checking its photometric, colorimetric and electrical parameters. According to CIE 177, CIE84, CIE-13.3, IES LM-79-19, Optical-Engineering-49-3-033602, COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2019/2015, IESNA LM-63-2, IES-LM-80 and ANSI-C78.377, it recommends to using an array spectroradiometer with an integrating sphere to test SSL products. The LPCE-2 system is applied with LMS-9000B/A High Precision CCD Spectroradiometer and A molding integrating sphere with holder base. This sphere is more round and the test result is more accruacy than the traditional integrating sphere.
Measures:
• Colorimetric: Chromaticity coordinates, CCT, Color Ratio, Peak Wavelength, Half Bandwidth, Dominant Wavelength, Color Purity, CRI, CQS, TM-30 (Rf, Rg), Spectrum Test
• Photometric: Luminous Flux, Luminous Efficiency, Radiant Power, EEI, Energy Efficiency Class, Pupil Flux, Pupil Flux Efficiency, Pupil Factor, Cirtopic Flux, Plant Growth Lamp PAR and PPF
• Electrical: Voltage, Current, Power, Power Factor, Displacement Factor, Harmonic
• LED Light Decay Test according to LM-80: Flux VS time, CCT VS time, CRI VS time, Power VS time, Power Factor VS time, Current VS time and Flux Efficiency VS time.
Q1:The power factor on the power meter is negative.
A1:Please change the connections of A1 and A2.
Q2:(For DC power meter) DC voltage on power meter is negative.
A2:Please change the connections of V1 and V2.
Q3:The big sphere won’t open.
A3:We put two screws to lock the sphere during the transportation to avoid opening. Please just remove these two screws.
Q4:There is error when you open the software “The device is not ready”.
A4:Please install the driver successfully.
Connect the USB cable to the black USB2.0 port of the computer.
Then both indicator light on the front of the device is on. Now you can use the software.
Q5:The standard lamp won’t on automatically.
A5:Confirm that the AC/DC switch is at DC.
Select the correct COM port for the standard lamp on the calibration interface. Check “Auto power on”. Input the correct voltage and current according to the calibration certification.
Usually, we connect the communication cables of the AC and DC power supplies to the communication box, and connect the communication box to COM 1 on the back of the LMS-9000. In this situation, just select COM 1 (Not COM 1(PC)).
If the communication cable of the device is connected to the computer directly, then you need to open “Device manager” of the computer to confirm which COM port it uses. For example, if it is COM12, then you need to select COM12(PC) on the software.
Confirm that the filament of the standard lamp is still good.
If the standard lamp is still won’t on, please check the power wires connection between the cabinet and the sphere and standard lamp.
Q6:Test results are not correct.
A6:Confirm that the standard lamp is still in valid time (Its valid time is only 1 year). Recalibrate the system.
Confirm that you are using the correct absorption factor. Bared light sources and small luminaires donot need to use absorption factor. That is to say, the factor is 1. But big luminaires need to use assistant lamp to generate this absorption factor (Please refer to the user manual for the detailed steps). That is to say, the absorption factor is bigger than 1.
Note: If you test too big luminaires, the results will not be good even you use assistant lamp. Too big luminaires need to be tested in a bigger integrating sphere, or in the darkroom using a goniophotometer.
Please always check “Auto” for the integration time when you calibrate or run the test.
Q7:Software won’t get electrical parameters.
A7:Please confirm that you selected the correct power meter model (Some power meters are only for AC, so please select DC power supply as the DC power meter if your sample is DC lamp) and the correct COM port (Please refer to article 5 above). Please check “Auto get electric parameter”.
Q8:DC samples won’t on automatically.
A8:Please confirm that the voltage and current of the sample is within the limit of the DC power supply. For example, the limit voltage is 30V and the limit current is 5A for DC3005 DC power supply.
If the sample needs constant current (CC), you need to input its rated current and a high enough voltage.
If the sample needs constant voltage (CV), you need to input its rated voltage and a high enough current.
Q9:Test results are not good after reinstalling the software.
