SC-015 Dust-proof Test Chamber (Sand Dust Chamber) is applied to physical and other related performance tests for electronic and electrical products, lamps, electrical cabinets, electrical components, automobiles, motorcycles and their parts and other products under simulated dust climate conditions. After the measurement, it is judged whether the performance of the product meets the requirements through verification, so as to facilitate the design, improvement, verification and factory inspection of the product.

Comply meets IEC60529:1989 +A1:1999 +A2: 2013 <Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)>,IEC60598-1,  GB2423.37-89 (Test L: dust test methods), GB4208, GB/T 4942.2-93(protective casing grade of low-voltage apparatus), GB7000.1 <Luminaires Part 1: General Requirements and Tests> 9.2.1, 9.2.2 and Figure 6, DIN40050 and IP5K0. The dust test chamber is applicable to the IP5X and IP6X dustproof test of the products.

Q1: Why can’t the test chamber be turned on even it is connected to the power supply?
A1: Please make sure that the power supply connected to the test chamber has the correct voltage and frequency. The chamber power supply is three-phase electricity, and incorrect phase sequence will also cause failure to start up. Please swap the phase sequence of any two phases of the power supply and then try to start it again.

Q2: There is dust floating out of the door seam during the test
A2: The door is not closed tightly. To prevent dust from flying out, the doors of the test chamber are designed to be closed tightly. When closing the door, first pull the door handle outward, press the door against the test chamber, then release the handle and press the door and handle hard. For large dust chambers with double doors, close the left door first and then the right door in the same way. Please refer to the following video: 

In addition, after the dust chamber has been used for many years, the aging of the door frame sealing strip will also cause dust to float out. Please check and replace the new sealing strip.

Q3: When do I need to replace the dust? How do I replace the dust?
A3: If the dust test is carried out strictly in accordance with the standard, after every 20 tests, it is necessary to clean out all the dust in the test chamber and replace it with new dust. Therefore, dust is a consumable item. After the dust shipped with the test chamber is used up, the customer needs to purchase it by himself. It can be purchased from LISUN or locally. Just buy medical talcum powder that is harmless to the human body. The particle size is not more than 75um. Please refer to the user manual for the method of replacing dust.

Q4: How to confirm test results?
A4: If the sample short-circuits and shuts down during the test, it is definitely not in compliance with the standard. If the sample can still light up normally, you need to take out the sample, wipe off the dust on the surface, and then open the sample to check whether there is dust inside. If there is dust, it is also not in compliance with the standard.
