LM-79 test refers to the photoelectric measurement of solid-state lighting products, mainly testing the luminous flux, light intensity, color degree, etc. LM-80 luminous flux maintenance rate (LED) life standard mainly tests the maintenance rate of luminous flux output, that is, the life test of LED light source.

LM-79 is mainly tested for photoelectric performance. Since some test items need to be completed with the help of goniophotometer, ordinary manufacturers are not able to make a complete report. This test is generally aimed at manufacturers of the whole lamp The main test items are as follows:
