IEC 62612:2018 Self-ballasted LED lamps for general lighting services with supply voltages > 50 V – Performance requirements

The IEC 62612:2018 standard specifies performance requirements for self-ballasted LED lamps intended for general lighting services, operating at supply voltages greater than 50 V. It covers lamps with integrated control gear that emit light in a single direction or omni-directionally. The standard defines parameters such as luminous flux, luminous efficacy, color characteristics (including color rendering index and chromaticity), lumen maintenance, and lifetime. It also includes requirements for compatibility with existing light sources and electrical systems to ensure proper operation in general lighting applications.

Additionally, IEC 62612:2018 outlines testing methods to verify compliance with these performance requirements. It prescribes procedures for measuring initial and maintained performance over the lamp’s lifetime, as well as testing for safety and durability under specified environmental conditions. This standard aims to ensure consistent quality, energy efficiency, and reliability for LED lamps, supporting their use as replacements for traditional lighting technologies in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
